You might know me from coming into the store and participating in the competition. Every summer my brother and I work and during every summer we give $25 dollars to two charities. Because I myself am a surfer and because my favorite time of summer is around Brendan Borek week, I wanted to give to you. Even though I never knew Brendan, I feel as if I always have.

I am writing to thank you for making my life as well as my parent’s life easier throughout the time that my sister was dealing with cancer. With the certificates and the gift cards and the food baskets, you made tension lighter around the house financially in the time when we needed help the most. I have wanted to write a letter to you every time we received a basket on Thanksgiving, gift certificates at Christmas, candy baskets at Easter, or Acme certificates monthly, but I wasn’t sure what to say. Lately, I have been trying to help your Memorial Fund out in my own way. I have been purchasing and wearing sweatshirts and shirts that my sister had people want to know where I got them so they can get them also. I feel proud when my family gets one of your cards or baskets delivered because my sister touched more lives than [just] her immediate family.
