Brendan Borek loved to surf. He spent many hours on the beach with his friends waiting for the incoming high tides-which brought about the best surfing conditions. So it was a natural for his friends to wish him “high tides” during his struggle with cancer.

In keeping with that same shared feeling of community good will, Brendan’s Fund strives to provide “High Tides” conditions for Cape May County and Atlantic County families who have a child or young adult with cancer.

In 2015 we established the Brendan Borek Endowed Fund at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The endowed fund provides services to Atlantic and Cape May County pediatric cancer patients and their families. These “access to care” services include but are not limited to Food, Travel, Hotel and other services during the child’s illness. This endowed fund guarantees access to care to present and future generations of pediatric cancer patients.

Mission Statement

The Brendan Borek High Tides Memorial Fund, Inc. (Brendan’s Fund) is a grassroots organization whose efforts are directed to providing compassionate assistance to Cape May and Atlantic County’s pediatric cancer patients. Since 1992, Brendan’s Fund has helped families through the crisis of their child’s illness.

As of the Fall of 2015, services will be provided to the families of Cape May and Atlantic Counties by the Child Life Specialist Team at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), through the Brendan Borek Endowed Fund at CHOP.
